At Let’s Rebuild we are very passionate about the building and construction trade and are equally passionate about passing that knowledge to individuals in our community because it is often something that is no longer taught. We are dedicated to serving those in the BIPOC community (everyone is welcome) especially African Americans as neighborhoods are often hit the hardest by poverty, inadequate and dilapidated housing, and poor job opportunities. Through our programs we hope to propel other BIPOC to see that it is possible to fix up and take pride in our neighborhoods and housing. Whether the house is on a rural farm or in the city, we can learn the skills needed to frame a home / structure, run electricity, plumbing etc, and save money while doing it. We teach those that come through our programs how to build structures using alternative building materials that are off-grid. These skills can give leeway for providing affordable housing in our communities and rural areas. Through our programs we hope to ignite the light of inspiration that not only is it do-able but you can have fun with others while doing it. We also hope to propel youth to go into the design (Architecture) and STEM fields. This program essentially becomes an each one teach model as we hope that participants will continue to come back and give guidance, inspiration, and wisdom of the skills they learned through the Let’s Rebuild Programs.
